I don't think women are more to blame for this situation than men (people like to pile on that women were traitors, so are worse than the architects of this mess and no one's worse than the ones actually doing it) BUT it is sadder. We expect more of them. Women who've succeeded because women were finally given the chance to do so, and then they use that power to hold others back. It's unbelievable.
I have not, and I just read about it. Horrifying, but not surprising. I spent some time in Mobile, Alabama in the early 1990s and was disgusted at the blatant racism coming out of the mouths of the white women I was visiting. They didn’t seem to understand how hateful their attitudes were. In their interpretations it was just the natural order of things. GAH. xo
I just got HBOMax so I can watch it too. Was thinking about bingeing it before Saturday, but I'm already angry at her, I've been holding a grudge for 50 years. I don't think I need to be even more pissed off. Let's have a watch party after the slam! xoxo
