Paid subscribers see each live slam for free.
Sister Suffragette! is our 8th monthly show this year, and it was absolutely killer. We say the same thing after every slam…it gets better with every event. We’re hitting our stride at running it, and I’m learning how to be a leader, something I’ve shied away from forever. It’s smoothing my edges without removing my spark. The storytellers are phenomenal; our audience is beloved.
I’m going to leave it here for you to enjoy. You can watch the whole show above or skip down to see these wonderful writers do their thing, one at a time. But if you do that, you’ll miss the “showness” and the love from the crowd.
Don’t just watch your favorites.
Watch them all and find new voices to love.
These are voices to savor.
If you love what you see, but don’t love the subscription model, there are other ways to say thanks. Producing these shows is a labor of love and a lot of time.
A reminder, there are no paywalls here. You can see the whole replay for free.
Storytellers
Mel Moseley of Mel’s Messy Love Lab
Mel Moseley is a storyteller, writer, actor, musician, mosaic/mixed-media artist, and fledgling witch at Mel’s Messy Love Lab. She lives with her black cat, Shadow, mostly off-grid in Fiddletown, CA. If you want to collaborate with her, the project has to include play, community, and creativity and Wham! Bam! Thank You! Slam! passes the litmus test!
The Honorable Departed RBG of Heaven
Our mystery guest was revealed yesterday, no one guessed who she was in advance. She was indeed, The Honorable Departed RBG. She came to share an important message with us. Ruthie’s quite a pistol, when she starts talking! We’ve all decided to cut her some slack (y’know), and now that she’s made this appearance, she’s thinking about starting a stack of her own. What do you think? Would you read her opinions? I would!
Jen Knox of The Resilient Creative
Jen Knox is author of The Resilient Creative. She believes in failing with panache and then writing about it. A true Midwesterner, Jen’s a fan of dry humor, potlucks, shady-looking breakfast nooks, and traveling as often as possible. She writes beneath a willow tree somewhere east of Columbus, Ohio.
Jen’s books are listed on Wham! Bam! Books! Bookshop and Amazon storefront.
Jess of The Equitable Home
Jess writes The Equitable Home, a stack about unpaid labour, mental load, and the rage of women who married men who “help.” No book yet – she’s been busy doing everyone’s admin.
Carrie Kaufman of You’re Overthinking It
Carrie Kaufman is a journalist, radio host, performer, pain-in-the-ass mouthy woman. She has done a lot, achieved a fair amount, and has little money to show for it. But she does have two kick-ass daughters who know their worth.
Anna Cave of The Returnist
Anna Cave is a former cancer haver, divorcée, recovering Corporate American, dog mom, and girlfriend of a current cancer haver. She’s a relatively recent optimist despite what you’ve seen on TV and is making the most of life 2.0
Zulfina of The Feminist Lens
Zulfina is Gen Z feminist who won’t apologize for making you flinch for pointing out the misogyny in our news and daily life.
Jennifer Silva Redmond of Editor On Board
At 14, Jennifer was a professional actress–by 28 she was touring in a musical and performing off Broadway. In her thirties she got hooked on writing, because she could play all the parts, plus direct and produce, all without going on a single audition. The only thing she likes better than writing is editing, so she doesn’t have to face a blank page first thing in the morning.
Jennifer’s book is available on Wham Bam’s Bookstore on Amazon.
Suki Wessling of The Babblery
Suki Wessling stole the domain name for The Babblery from her teenage son, then had to figure out what to do with it. She only knew it suited her inability to focus on one particular subject. Suki is a writer, teacher, radio host, and musician.
Maria Cassano of The Good Girl Recovery Guide
Maria Cassano is a professional writer, editor, journalist, and author who now spends a disproportionate amount of her time arguing with conservative trolls in her comments. She’s been published in HuffPost, Bustle, NBC, Food & Wine, and USA Today, and her debut memoir (Numb, Party of One: A Memoir of Healing From Dissociation) is currently available for pre-order.
Maria’s book is listed on Wham! Bam! Books! Bookshop or Amazon shop and available for pre-order!
Michele Peters of Light Into Dark Places
Michele Peters is a Pacific Northwest writer and reader, which means she has more than one raincoat, shelves of emotional-support books for long dark winters, and a deeply complicated relationship with the Seattle Mariners. She loves the vulnerable, shame-busting, “this is uncomfortable but let’s talk about it anyway” kind of writing. The kind that makes you cry—and then immediately recommend it to your friends.
Nan Tepper of WBTYS, The Next Write Thing and Style Your Stack. Yes, she’s busy!
Nan Tepper is the creator of Wham! Bam! Thank You! Slam! and Wham! Bam! Book! Slam! She’s memoirist-in-chief at The Next Write Thing. She styles stacks for writers on the Substack platform. She’s living her creative dreams, writing, designing, and being a kosher ham on stage. She recently discovered that she’s lusted for the spotlight since childhood, so now she’s making up for lost time!
